All our services are available in our Practice at 314 Medomsley Road, Consett or we can arrange a visit and bring all of the following services to you:
Complete Eye Tests including:
Your Eye Health Test
Our qualified opticians will examen all the different structures of the eyes to make sure that they are healthy.This part of the test can tell us important information regarding your eyes - like whether you may have cataracts or glaucoma and is also important for the detection of various other illnesses which may affect the rest of your body- like diabetes or high blood pressure.
Your Eye Sight Test
In this part of the test, the Optician will check how well you can see at various distances and give recommendations on any visual correction you may need. You will then be given your written prescription for your spectacles.
Contact Lens Fitting:
Our Opticians will check your eyes and vision and ensure we match the most suitable type and size of Contact Lenses for you.There is a huge variety to choose from:daily disposable, monthly disposable, annual hard and soft contact lenses.We will explain the options and differences to you so you can make an informed decision.
Contact Lens Aftercare:
This is an important check to ensure your eyes are healthy after using contact lenses and to give you the opportunity to discuss your changing needs with our Optician.
Spectacles:
Having an Eye test does not automatically mean you will need spectacles. If you do, however, our highly trained staff will be able to advise you on the type of frame you should choose and the lens options that are available.We will also explain if certain tints or coatings would be beneficial.You don't have to buy new frames if you are happy with your old ones.We can reglaze your new prescription lenses into your old frames.
In-house Lab:
Our in-house lab enables us to glaze prescriptions in stock while you wait. We can also carry out repairs and make adjustments to your existing frames and tint your lenses to any colour you choose.
Sports Vision:
We believe that you should be able to enjoy doing what you want to do.We have an exciting range of prescription sports specs from ski masks to fishing spectacles,dive masks and swimming goggles. We can also enhance your vision with special golf tints and other products to give you that edge.
Low Vision Aids:
We want you to be able to make the most of your vision. We have a wide range of magnifiers, electronic magnifiers and reading lamps to help you do just that.
Home Visits:
You do not have to be housebound to request any of our optical services from the comfort of your own home. We know that balancing work, children and home chores takes up just about all your time- so why not have a break and call us to test your eyes at home?
