Opticians at Home Limited, is a family run, independent Opticians based at 314 Medomsley Road, Consett, County Durham, DH8 5NX.

We are passionate about Eyecare and believe everyone deserves the best possible eyesight. That is why we decided to create an eye testing service which is accessible to all- either from our practice in Consett just 10 miles from Durham, Newcastle and Hexham or where ever we are needed- throughout County Durham, Tyne and Wear and the North East of England.

Our aim is to provide the highest standards of Eyecare and Customer services in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.Because we are independent, we can offer you a wide choice of optical products and will source the right product for you. We're here to advise you on what's available-from the latest spectacle lens technology in single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses to the newest fashions in spectacle and sports frames.We can help you decide on various tints, polarised and transition (photochromatic) lenses and explain the differences to you.

We are actively involved in promoting Eyecare in the Community and were the third business in Derwentside to receive a Gold National Clean Air Award as part of our efforts to educate the public about the hazards of smoking and eye health.

We are also involved in Rotary International and collect old spectacles which we donate to Sri Lanka and West Africa through the Rotary Club of Derwentside.
