Contact Lenses

Contact Lenses are a great way to correct your vision discretely and allow you to go out or enjoy sports without having to worry about your spectacles. You can also choose from our wide selection of coloured contact lenses to change your look completely.

If you have never tried Contact Lenses before, our qualified Optician will need to do a Contact Lens Fitting for you. This is a special test where he will ensure that your eyes are healthy and that Contact Lenses are safe for you to use. He will then work out your Contact Lens prescription which is different to your spectacle prescription and determine which size and type of contact lens will suit you and your needs best. If you have not had an eye test for the last 2 years, you will need a full eye test before your contact lens fitting which can be booked at the same time.

At Opticians at Home, we will ensure that you have the best type of contact lenses for your needs. There is a huge range of different sizes, materials and types of Contact Lenses. The Optician will explain these to you and advise you on what they mean to you.You will then be able to choose your daily, monthly or yearly contact lenses.

After your Fitting Test, you will be given a free teaching session. Our Optician will show you how to place the Contact Lenses safely and comfortably into your eyes and then how to remove them. If you have chosen monthly or annual disposable lenses, you will also be shown how to clean and care for your contact lenses and which type of contact lens solutions you should choose.

You will then be given a free trial of contact lenses to try at home and the Optician will recheck your eyes at a second free appointment to ensure that your eyes have adjusted to using contact lenses and to give you the chance to discuss any questions with him.

Because contact lenses cover a part of the surface of your eyes, it is vital to have regular aftercare tests to ensure that your eyes are still healthy. Our optician will advise you on the frequecy of your Aftercare appointments.

Contact Lenses are a great supplement to your visual correction but your eyes will need a break from them. This is why Contact Lenses cannot replace your spectacles entirely.
